Completed 5 runs. Inside knee joint has now started hurting a lot. A lot lot. What do I do? Persevere and try and run through the pain or switch to brisk walks until it settles? Is this normal? Thank you!
Week 2 - oh my knee: Completed 5 runs. Inside... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 - oh my knee
Sorry your knee hurts. 😔 You say it hurts a lot, lot, so that's not normal. Rest it, elevate it, and don't run while it still hurts. It could be caused by so many things. Do you have proper running shoes? Are you doing your stretches, warm up etc?
Have a look at Oldfloss 's "catch up corner" for this week, for good advice on heeding pain/injury. Hope you feel better soon. 💐
I have no medical qualifications at all, but please don't run through pain JackieOhh , it'll almost certainly exacerbate the problem rather than helping.
In your position I'd rest up and then try gentle walks before restarting C25K, at the beginning. I know I'd find that frustrating even though it's only going back a week. However you potentially have plenty of running years ahead of you, so that's how I try to look at things.
Btw have you read the "How to run C25K" FAQ? While it's very long it does contain lots of useful information.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope you're able to enjoy C25K again soon!
Neither. Stop running and take CiderWoman24 's advice ...follow the guidelines...for resting it. Do check out Catch up Corner too.Lots of tips there.
.
The advice above is good. Rest and ice will help but also start some knee strengthening exercises so your knee is better supported when you start running again. You can find advice in the Support section at the bottom of the page in C25k app.
I also wonder if you were going a bit faster than your knees are ready for? Slow and steady is the mantra - and that means really slow at the start!
