where to start after a break

Hi Everyone

I completed C25K but haven’t run since last Jan and want to pick it up again but not sure where to start. Do I go back to the beginning? Help advice would be appreciated

hi, if you mean Jan 2023 then yes I’d say go back to beginning. If you mean this January then you could probably get away with starting partway in.

I had an op in August 2023 and hadn’t run them up until end of THIS January so I started at the beginning again.

At least you know you can do it this time

🍏 I would agree with limberlou If you feel comfortable go out and do a trial run of 15 to 20 mins and see how you cope! Take it from there. Welcome back and enjoy!!☺️

What sort of running were you doing and how long had you been doing it when you stopped? As limberlou implies, January 2023 is a very different kettle of fish to January 2024.... and so is having got running thoroughly embedded and doing C25k but tailing off to nothing fairly quickly.

Loads of us do decide to do the full C25K again, even if we've not completely stopped runing or haven't stopped for long, so you will not be alone here by any means!

I completed C25K in Oct 23 and had kept it up twice a week but had an awful virus in Jan 24 that took a while to get over - going out this morning and see how I get on - really enjoyed doing it the first time so hopefully will get my mojo back and keep going 😀 thank you so much nice to know there’s support when you need it !
