So within 36 hours of deciding I'm all ready to get back out there the latest cold has hit πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ had a terrible sore throat over night. I should have known, the kids are full of it again. Really hoping this one moves through quickly 🀞 but hold me accountable because I really want to be running again

Hi πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈDon’t be hard on yourself . You can’t help being poorly. Concentrate on just getting better. The run is very patient and will always wait for you. So no accountability needed. Get well soonπŸ’xx

Thank you 😊 it's just been a winter of pne after the other, and pretty bad colds too but it seems like a lot of parents are in the same boat. Can't wait for some proper spring weather and sunshine β˜€οΈ

Oh no, fingers crossed it won't linger. These bugs are everywhere, and unavoidable when you have little ones.

I'm possibly being a little cautious because I've had 2 really bad colds this winter already... maybe this one will fly through 🀞

You can still run with a sore throat... No problem.

To be clear, I'm not saying you should run, only that it's not a problem to do so.

General rule: if symptoms are above the neck, you're ok to exercise. If below the neck, rest. That's from the NHS website.

You should, of course, be guided by how you actually feel.

I have heard this... and in the past I have run with a sore throat/cold. I've just been hit with a couple of really bad colds this winter (courtesy of the little ones!!) so I'm probably being a little over cautious.... I'm keeping my finger's crossed for next week!!!

That's rotten luck - I can feel your frustration oozing from your post. Never mind - the anticipation will pump up your motivation even higher. Get well soon.

I'm on the same old thing here. Just one cold after another for the best part of 14 months. Various blood tests have shown absolutely nothing that could account for it, so it remains a mystery.

Just do what you can and get back to it when you can. I'm not even running at the moment, and haven't been for quite some time, but trying to keep up with regular brisk walking through the quagmire known as Long Covid πŸ™„

Be well soon 🀞

Oh no that sounds awful. I've had 2 really bad colds that lasted early December until mid Feb... I thought that was me for this year but seemingly not. I think there's a lot of weakened immune systems thanks to the lack of mixing through the pandemic and we do seem to be paying for it now. I hope you manage to stay away from colds for a bit and then hopefully you can get back running soon
