It's been a busy week so far and only going to get busier.

I missed posting on Monday, I forgot all about it due to being dragged into a virtual meeting literally straight after jumping out of the shower! I declined video to save the other attendees eye sight and minds.

I've then been working away for a couple of days, the hotel has a gym but the treadmills are usually very busy but the weights aren't so I used those instead.

Monday, I continued the sensible approach and chose W6 R1, kept the pace low and enjoyed every second of it.

This morning was W6 R2, the first 10 minutes I did at my slow pace but the second 10 minutes I added an extra .5kph, no issues there, HR and breathing were all under control, no issues with my knee, etc, so I decided I wanted to try a sprint, just 1 minute, no more.

So towards the end of the cool down walk, I hit the button and increased running speed as the treadmill built up to the target speed.

One minute on the mark I slowed back to walking, no issues with my knee, not even a niggle.

I may do W5 R3 again as I continue to build my running fitness up again or I may continue with W6 R3, I'm pretty ok with the concept of completing it but with not running for 2 months I know there would have been a drop off, I'll see how it goes, I may do W5 R3 and then jump to W6 R3.

Happy running everyone.

🍏🌟You get star of the week for being sensible in building back your fitness and recovering from injury!

No wonder you enjoy your runs & weights with that busy schedule. Some good downtime & headspace for you! 👍

Thanks Annie,

This isn't that busy if I'm honest, before COVID I was really only at home for the weekends, in the year before the first lockdown I was in Ireland, Dubai, all over the UK, Sweden, Norway and the US.

We do a lot more remotely now but somethings we must go to the customer site.

This all sounds really positive. The mental side of coming back from injury can be really tough-it takes a while for the “will it come back” thoughts to go away. Good luck with whichever run you choose next. You can always cut short if you need to, although it sounds like you’re in a great position to enjoy whatever comes next.

Thanks,

I have no issues ending a run early if I need to, after all, practice makes perfect and that's how I view a run if I have to end it early.

No such thing as a f**led run, I'm not saying the f word :)
