My son had heel pain when he was growing and I took him to a physio who recommended gel heel inserts for his school shoes. They definitely helped. You need to make sure you’ve got high drop shoes. Maybe 12mm which I think Brooks do.

Thanks Tasha99. I've bought different things to try out including gel heel inserts and full insoles. Bought some Brooks Glycerin 20's for when I ease back into things which have a 10mm heel to toe. I'm looking forward to reporting back with success in a few weeks.

Randomly, have you had an x ray.. to see it there is any kind of a tear?

No, but if I don't see a steady improvement I will look at that. Therapist who has been treating me doesn't think it's a tear.🤔 Interestingly, my big toe mid joint is fused and has been for years, so he thinks lack of mobility/flexibility in that foot may have contributed to things.

It might be worth doing it. Even a small tear could be the cause. I hope it does get sorted soon.
