Hi everyone. It's my third time restarting couch to 5k! Unfortunately I got covid at week 7 which knocked me off my stride for several weeks and am now only able to go back to it.
I'm feeling quite tired still so restarting from the very beginning to give my body a chance to settle back in. I'm in no rush!
It was definitely the right choice as well, I enjoyed it but it still felt like a little challenge! It's so good to get moving again even in the cold air.
Unfortunately I missed the 5k I signed up for on 21 Jan but no matter, there'll be others.
Hoping third time is a charm as they say! 😀

🍏😊🤗 Oh such a sensible approach!! Glad you are over it all and back to running! You will enjoy it even more this time! Look forward to hearing all about it! Fab! Xx
Thanks so much! Yeah definitely want to take it slowly. Went out for a short walk today. Feeling a bit knackered but looking forward to getting back into it! Hopefully the longer days will help xx
Don’t be afraid to take extra recovery days if needed…some runners can take a long time to get back to their pre Covid fitness. Tiredness can be an issue.
Why don’t you pop over to strength and flex for some ideas on some exercises to do on those recovery days…
Thanks! I'm going to see how it goes. I've just rejoined a gym too so they are going to do me a plan for strengthening. I'll be taking it nice and easy until I feel stronger again 😊 cheers for the comment!
Do some research on NAC supplements. It's an amino acid that helped me get over covid, felt terrible for months after coming down with it, tired and weak in the gym but 3 weeks on NAC and I was back to normal and so was my partner. I'm no saying to definitely take as supplements can be very individual but it might be worth looking into.
I've just restarted for similar reasons. I'm having to take it slower than usual, and I'm spreading out my run days too so it's going to take a little longer than usual. So sorry you had to miss your 5k, it's really frustrating. But there will be others.
Also restarting C25K I had a sinus infection for weeks then it was cold so I just stopped running. I decided to start again and shocked how unfit I am. It can only get better!
