this week my daughter and I decided we will run the Rotherham 10k on May 19th. Every year we as a family raise money for the hospital special baby care unit. This is because my 2nd granddaughter died there aged 7 weeks of sepsis. Ironically the same thing that killed my wife.
So today I walked 10k! Just to see what it was like (don’t worry I intend finishing C25K)
Holly may would have been 14 today so the countdown has begun,it’s 2 days after Anita’s birthday and will get very messy afterwards I’m sure.
This years fundraising is a tough one
Wish us luck

🍏Incredibly sad reason but a wonderful cause & doing it together is so very special. I read today
Grief does not have a finish line…… We endure….. We change with it and it becomes part of us….we grieve because we loved… and we survive because love never dies.
The 10k is a great incentive to get through C25K and then do a 10k training plan! Wow we never know where running will take us. Your Anita would have been so proud of .you. Holly May’s Day.. what a beautiful name!
As a family we don’t use social media to get sympathy or support
BUT I have found this group so encouraging and supportive that I feel that I can share things with you. Mentally it helps me too and I wish I had found this path and group ages ago
How wonderful that you and your daughter can do this fundraising run together, and remember your loss in such a way that will have a positive impact on others, too. Well done both of you, and best of luck.
