In my haste to make my runniversary post I neglected my tradition of adding a photo of old running shoes going to the shoe (recycling) shop in the sky!
This pair survived about 1200 km of running and lived for another 300 to 500 km walking and hiking π―.
This is unusual. Normally 800 km is the limit.
November 2018 I graduated from C25K at my local parkrun... at which I am now a Run Director ππ
Celebrate what has passed and look forward to the future. Have a fantastic 2024. And maybe I'll see you at an event near you!

You have had great runs in those shoes Katnap, always a sad day to say goodbye to the first pair of running shoes, isn't it, I wish you fantastic runs in your new shoes in 2024, that's excellent that you are now a RD at the parkrun you graduated in 2018
Thanks GOG! I found my feet slipping inside them too much and causing blisters around the big toe area. And the foam near the Achilles support was starting to show.
π We never know when we don our first pair of trainers and start the running adventure, where it will lead us!!! You have achieved much! Well done. Thanks for posting as it encourages the rest of us! π
Or an event near you π, that's amazing the running you have done, races you have run and fun you've had, wishing all of you a very Happy New Year xx
Those shoes might make it to the Guinness Book of Records! Hard to say goodbye to old friends, but they have earned their rest after long service to the KN and TC royal family. π
Absolutely love this! Itβs hard saying goodbye to old friends-youβve been through lots of stuff together! Hope your new shoes are shiny and beautiful to take the edge of the sadness!!
Love that youβve gone from not-a-runner to park run race director. Such a great inspiration! Hereβs hoping 2024 brings you many happy miles! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
