Any tips?

I've just completed run 1 of week 4. It's going well so far! I'm worried I'm going very slowly, is there a rough pace I should be aiming for? Also any other tips for a a jogging newbie would be much appreciated 👍👍

Big welcome to the forum! This is just the post you need… lots of helpful hints and tips! Well worth a read.

Most important is keeping it slow and steady at a pace where you can talk in full sentences without gasping. Most of us go too fast! That doesn’t correspond to a certain pace on your watch-it’ll vary between runners and it’ll even be different for you depending on all sorts of things such as sleep, stress, weather, what time of day it is, the terrain etc etc etc. It’s counter intuitive but that’s how your fitness will grow best. if you feel like you’re going too slow, you’re probably on the right track!

We all love chatting about anything running related so come back with updates and questions. Can’t wait to hear how you get on!

Slow and steady will get you there without injury and you will get stronger (and maybe faster - but not compulsory) as you go. Times on your watch or app don't reflect your running conditions or how you feel that day so don't be governed by that data. Just do your own thing and enjoy!
