Just in week 2 and I'm wondering what pace I should be running at? 🏃

Coach keeps saying take it easy but what is that?

Should I mentally count strides per second or something?

Thanks in advance.

You don’t need to count anything at all or look at a watch to know if you’re running at an easy pace. All you need to do is try and speak a full sentence out loud without gasping. If you can’t, you’re going a bit too fast and you can slow down. It’s also known as a “conversational pace”.

Most of us go too fast, especially as new runners!

Take it easy.... Or conversational pace, where you can say whole sentences without puffing. It doesn't matter how fast or how many paces per second, at our age what matters most is we keep going and don't get injured, go too fast, do something like pull a calf muscle, and no running for weeks, no one wants that .Just go steady and smile 😊

I found the Japanese slow running video so helpful if you can find it. It shows you that slow is the way to build your stamina and allows you to enjoy your C25k rather than endure it!

Well, my advice for what its worth.

1. Don't knock yourself out.

2. Slowup it's not a race.

3. Talk to yourself just to make sure you are not out of breath.

4. Above all take it easy, plenty of time after C25k to burn some rubber.

5. Have an Excellent Day.

6. Rock on.

Me, well I am 76 and I have decided that when I grow up I want to be a Runner 😁
