Finally off the injury couch after 8 months 😊

Delighted to report I did week1 run1, this morning and it felt fantastic! Such a joy to be back out there in the beautiful Autumn weather. I'm 38 pounds lighter this time around (still got at least 25 more to go) and gosh, it was easier to run at a lighter BMI.

Continuing to read on here throughout my enforced couch-time, really helped keep my spirits up and encouraged the belief that I would, yes I really would, return to running. A tip I read somewhere on here, was to do the C25K as "walk/faster walk", as a 9 week precursor rehabilitation period, prior to the actual the "walk/run" plan. I found that very beneficial.

Wishing all those on the IC, speedy recoveries πŸ’– and all those out there running....happy running!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done. It's definitely great to be out in the Autumn fresh air. I'm on week 6, and I think I've lost at least half a stone just from doing C25K and cutting down (a bit) on carbs. I was worried about the impact on my knees with the extra weight I was carrying, but it's been OK. And it was much improved by getting 'proper' road running shoes with cushioned soles. Less weight + improving stamina should make your whole C25K experience much better / easier.

Thank you @MonkeyMagic77, and many congratulations on your own weightloss and for reaching week 6. πŸ‘

I felt excited after a 5 week hiatus.. I can't imagine the endorphins after 8 months! Hope all the runs are as positive and enjoyable and that you sail through injury - free

In the rabbit hole way that online stuff goes, I have just landed up reading your inspiring posts on your running and your weight loss.

Well done. I’m impressed and hope that all continues well. I also thought the idea of doing a pre C25k walk/faster walk programme a jolly good idea.
