Runners' Smug

My friends I've been badly struck down. In the queue for the weekend coffee reward today I was struck by a bad case of "Runners' Smug" having now finished my 3rd consolidation run. This is when you've finished your run and are feeling fit, healthy, and stall tall in the coffee line! Is anyone else suffering from thjs and will it go away on its own or do I need to seek further assistance?😆

It’s the best feeling isn’t it? Most of the time the feeling wears off, but by then you’re usually ready for your next run. Well done on your 3rd consolidation run. How far did you go?

About 4.5k I think.. oh no!,does the condition increase with distance?😉

The opposite in my case as I barely run further than 200 metres these days 😉

And you insist on doing it in special kit too. Pff, what are we going to do with you? 😜

Well done on your run, oh that runners smug.....I'm not sure it ever goes away, I tell everyone I'm a runner, especially medical people when they ask before an appointment if I'm mobile and am I able to get up their few steps or do I need to meet in a ground floor room because their lifts not working 🤣🤣🤣

I love this. Embrace the smug is what I say! You’ve earned it. Runners’ Smug can be contagious. MrU started running after I did partly because of catching RS from me.

In my experience, the most dangerous consequences of Runners’ Smug are with those near and dear to us. Beware the glazed look of “oh no, they’re talking about running again”. That’s a warning sign that it’s starting to become problematic. A prescription to come here and post about it instead can help maintain good relationships with those around us.

Haha I think my near and dearest are still in the half feigning interest stage which I believe is an early symptom of "glassy eye" syndrome! Thanks all for your responses I've had a good chuckle.
