Having graduated in January I planned to run 5km. I carried on running 30 mins and managed 4.75km! Unfortunately I suffered a ITB/ Abductor injury. My Physio gave me exercises and said my Glutes weren’t working properly on the Left side!
After 3 months off I graduated again on Thursday. 😀😀😀🏃♀️
I’m writing this as patience pays off!! Outside I can run 1k in around 7 minutes inside it’s 8 minutes. Any tips for pushing on to achieve my 5km?
I’m 58 and 5ft 1 so not the fastest!!!

🍏👏🙌 Congratulations 🥳 🎉Such an achievement especially after a set back!! I will send you a link about Consolidation runs that you can look at as you bask in the glory of graduation. What a feeling it is!
Absolutely fantastic! Congratulations on graduating again! 🏅👩🎓🏃♀️❤️💪
I think your badge has fallen off so I’ve pinned it back on again. There’ll be a new Graduate’s Club chat thread going up shortly-I’ll tag you. There’s some information on how to keep running after finishing the programme and also a place for some supportive chat as you transition to running without the structure of the programme. Make sure you say hi!
Really well done and hope you’re doing some well deserved celebrating 🥳
EDIT: I forgot to add the links to programmes for building to 5k….
Slow down and get your 5k under your belt. Once you can run that comfortably you can concentrate on increasing your pace. Helps cut the risk of Injury 😁
