I have been finding lots of peace on my runs making sure I take time for myself.

Dads latest Alzheimer’s crisis has calmed although still not got any help from Doctors or Social services I think they do it on purpose!!

well off for a weekend away so my phone will be muted and whatever happens happens.

However will not fit a run in whilst away as it’s a beer festival 🤣 so have been out this morning and it’s left me with positive vibes sometimes a bit of self care is all you need.

Happy running folks you are all marvellous!!

🍏 You are contending with a lot at the moment so am really pleased for you that your runs are so therapeutic! Enjoy your weekend away and we pray there is some headway made for your Dad soon.

It's a horrible situation to be in  Wavy-chick28 . Haven't Social Services done a care needs assessment? They have a statutory responsibility to do so. I know that won't fix things, but it might give you some more options. It was certainly helpful 14 years ago when my parents' situation changed, literally overnight, from independent living to emergency hospitalisation (Mum) and residential care (Dad.)

Yes that’s my next step after this crisis I have told my brothers but I know it’s me that will have to start the leg work when back from a much deserved break. He is as safe as he can be with carers 🤞🏼 Thank you though that gives me hope x

When things went pear-shaped with my parents they were living in the UK, whereas I'd emigrated to France and my brother to Australia. Fortunately we'd persuaded them into a care needs assessment roughly six weeks before the crisis hit, so although they'd refused any assistance at that stage, they were in the system. That made a big difference when it came to dealing with everything that happened later.
