I repeated week one for two weeks. I found week two run two quite hard. I felt tired half way through but I did it. Ihave just completed run 3 of week two yesterday and I needed encouragement to go out and do it. Once I had done it it was fine. I used the shiny happy playlist yesterday and it actually increased my speed. I am enjoying it and never thought I would be able to run for periods of time. Albeit minutes. I like the breathing tip of breathing in and out for four and find it useful too.

Week 2 Run 3
🍏👏Well done for your perseverance. Please don’t think about increasing pace or running fast at the moment. Your body is adjusting to using muscles, tendons & lungs in a new way. Keeping the run very slow will aid and abet that process! You are doing so well! Don’t risk an injury! Read through the following guidelines when you get a minute!Glad you are enjoying it all!
Congratulations on getting out for your runs and completing week two. Onwards and upwards.
I would say not to worry about or even try to increase your pace. Running is running no matter how fast you go. I for one definitely went too fast and it wasn’t until last month (1 year, 3 months after graduation) that I started to do low heart rate training and understood that running was more fun and less stressful when I went slower. I’m now running a minute slower per km and look forward to (almost) every run. So do keep it as slow as you can.
All the best with week 3. Love the idea of having something fun to have/do with your run. Like your playlist. I save the podcasts I want to listen to and do that on my runs - it’s a little extra incentive. Have fun experimenting with that. I also found that remembering how I felt afterwards helped me to get out there.
You’re doing brilliantly. We’ll all be here cheering you on.
Thank you so much. That's a good idea about saving podcasts. Yes I will be careful not to go too fast. I think it's a great community to be part of.
It really is. So much support from everyone. Lots of amazing stories to inspire one another or be somewhere for advice or support.
Do keep us posted on your running journey. We’ve all been there so it’s nice to hear your experiences, remember our own running journey and of course cheer everyone to the C25K finish line (which Coach Bennett at the Nike Run Club would say is a starting line in disguise).
You got this.
excellent Runberryred …sounds like you had just the right tunes going on..doubts can quickly creep in to your head but you went along nevertheless and it worked…now into the next run…I’m sure you will nail it!
