Week 2. Run 3.

Yesterday morning I woke raring to get going with the painting of a couple of ceilings with a new paint roller that I'd bought for the job. It left me infuriated.

Do yourself a favour and don't buy the Paint Runner Pro, because as a piece of DIY equipment it is completely useless. It might come in useful though, for massaging aching muscles following a run.

The roller left me bad tempered, and then I kept watching the weather for a break in the clouds, which wound me up even further - the break didn't come - which meant no run, as I didn't fancy being soaked in torrential rain. At the end of the day, I'd turned into one of the Mister Men. I bet you can guess which one lol.

This morning, the run happened - a day later than I envisioned. It was a welcome release from yesterdays frustration. Now, I'm as calm as a Vladimir Putin on election day ☺

The run started with Animals by Nickleback. I really enjoyed today's outing, and my breathing seemed much better than previous.

I've been working on trying to improve breathing with an Ultrabreathe lung trainer that I purchased several moons ago to help my asthma.

I'd love to share a photo of myself using the lung trainer, but it kinda looks like a sex toy and I might end up with a ban from Health Unlocked. As a result of its poor design, I best use it when no-one is looking 😂

My heart tipped the scales at 163bpm this morning - that happened at a time during the run when I'd decided to speed things up a little.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. I felt that I'd had lots of energy to spare, which I'm hoping is a positive. I won't deviate from the plan by adding an extra run in, as the chap that designed it knows what he's talking about - I don't.

It's another milestone complete and I'm ready for the next challenge 👍

Sorry about your decorating frustrations but well done on your run! I was very curious when I saw your photo, thinking at first there was going to be a dental theme to your post(🤔?!) until I read down to actually discover what it was! Here's hoping that the running helps your asthma - I think it does for some. Glad you found the run good - you were wise to stick with the program too. Good luck🙂

Thanks Sandra - I've found to date that I haven't really been impacted by my asthma with the running, but that's maybe because I suck on my inhaler a couple of times before heading out. I can't imagine not having to use it before a run, but I'm hoping the frequency during normal day to day stuff reduces drastically. Here's hoping 🤞

Well done you... stick with the plan and always, always finish, with something left in the tank!

I definitely had something left in the tank today, whether that will be enough for week three is yet to be seen. I guess apprehension and unknowing all feed into self doubt. I can understand why some say don't look forward. I have though taken a look - it's the curious side of me. Hopefully the stubborn side will help me get through ☺

I always recommend anticipation not apprehension, delight, not dread!

Great post that made me laugh in places too :D It's great that you're enjoying it, I think that's half the battle.

163 peak sounds really good to me. Mine is in the high 170's and peaks in the low 180's!

Looking forward to Week three with you.

180? Wow. I'd wake up in a wooden box lol

You've set me off now 😄(I saw that you were born in the same year as me too. ) I've been to fitbit and looked at my runs/heart rate. It seems that for the first two weeks I didn't go much over the low 170's, last week I peaked at 193! 😲and this week the 180's. But for each run, I'm at a pace where I can speak :)

I can't watch my heart rate and run as I can't see the little numbers and I love my bitmoji screen so I won't change it but I don't think I could run and keep my heart rate low anyway. I'm hoping weight loss (again...) and keeping this up will do that.

Since changing my diet 5 weeks ago and starting this I've lost 9lb (3st plus to go)and my resting HR has gone from 62 to 52 so we're heading in the right direction :D

I get a buzz on my wrist when my heart rate gets to 155, so I tend to back off a little when that happens.

I'm pleased you've lost weight - well done. My HR is in the 50s too but probably more to do with beta blockers lol.

Wrist trackers aren't the most accurate at measuring heart rate. According to my Fitbit, my heart should have exploded by now. If you're really concerned, you need a chest tracker. If you're just interested in your performance, listen to your body. If you're gasping for breath, sweating buckets with a beetroot face, you need to slow down.

I had one of those days last tuesday and if i’d only got out the door with trainers on Willow wouldn’t have spent the day hearing about what’s wrong with my world

Today is a different story I’m glad you got out and well the breather? if it helps what does it matter what it looks like

Glad you managed to get your run done hopefully in better weather, blowing an absolute gale over here in Yorkshire so glad I ran yesterday. Hope you managed to get the decorating sorted, I prefer paint pads to rollers... rollers always seem to splatter paint mainly on me 🤣

It's blowy up here in West Cumbria. We had a little hail earlier. The fells also have a splattering of snow. I wish it would warm up ☀

One ceiling is done. I think I need a neck brace. Ouch. Who invented ceilings? 🤣
