Hey lovelies π Have had a few very stressful days with a LO ending up in AEU. Put off yesterday's run - but just back now from it now.
Really felt the need for a run under the stress of last 48 hrs. Was glad I managed to get out. So glad that running is a 'go to' for me for stress relief now. π₯Ή
Changed over from Sarah M to Jo W for this week - and even managed to include a play list in the app - so first time running with music! Was dreaming of this day in many lives! πββοΈπΈ
I managed the first 2 runs no bother! The third Run I lost my step as a car came along the quiet side road and I went onto a different surface. Missed out most of Run 4 - but then once Run 5 came along I continued to run π speed - but really felt constricted and that I needed to stretch my legs- so sped up a bit!
Because of my personal success π of the last run I felt like I was 'holding back' a bit on this run; it worked for me for the first 2 runs - but next time I think I will use a bit longer pace as I go along. I suppose this is part of the learning curve?! ... gradually knowing what works for me from trial and error. And run to run I guess?!
Expecting a little gift I have treated myself to, to arrive by Evri this evening! Clue: hopefully I will be wearing it on my right wrist ...
Not sure if it'll arrive before I vist LO tonight tho ... but tomorrow is another day π

πSo sorry about LO hope itβs not too serious. Stressful time but pleased you could get some relief with a run! Jo Whiley has always been my go to trainer.. each time I repeated or did bits of C25K β¦ Itβs definitely a bonus to have music on some runs ..Look forward to the photo of the gift from Evri π€£Take care & hope you find LO much improved! Xx
Well done Ziggyliscious for perseverance. I found W2R2 really hard for some reason but W3R1 was so much better, despite my anticipation of it being so much harder. Its a funny thing this running lark isn't it? I also feel my breathing is getting better now. Keep at it x
Sounds like runs are going really well and very well done for treating yourself - a worthwhile cause! I did't celebrate my milestones - I'm really not good at that sort of thing, but I think it makes the process easier and more of a pleasure.
Sending good wishes to your LO too-how are they doing?
The weather is a challenge at the moment-humidity is a killer. Youβre doing brilliantly. Donβt worry about pace. As comfortable as you can manage is absolutely fine.
I think we need pics of your delivery! New tech is a great motivator!
Yes, reading it right - except Loved One is 30 ... but still Little to me!π« π€
Yes about the learning curve of pace: I am just starting to gauge this ... but still so far to go π...
ie:
Yesterday, after only one day's rest, π I keenly and over-πconfidently π went out seemingly all prepared to smash W2R3 πͺ...
zoomed into warm up brisk walk π¨ with sm (so much π) enthusiasm ... only to feel a growing twinge at the back of my left heel π¦Ά π₯- (then remembering I had a slight bruised feeling here coming away from the end of previous run: W2R2 π πββοΈ).
I thought positive π ππ - while wearing my sensible hat π€ - and convinced myself once I started Jo's prompt to runπββοΈ it would disappear as if by magic π§ββοΈπ«π₯·
... but alas noooo! π±π¬π
One or 2 paces into the first run and my sensible hat won π€π§ ... I stopped and had to hide under said hat π«£ and bravely half-hobble back home πΆββοΈ π³οΈ ... needless to say gremlins have been overactive in my head since ... π€― πΉπ πΊ
One thing to check: when putting on your running shoes, are you making sure the back of your heel is fully at the back of the shoe before lacing up? Are your socks rubbing?
How are you landing your feet when running? Do your heels contact the ground first?
I probably can't help you with your Open University course. I remember when they had programmes on TV at unsocial hours (6am and after midnight, and on Saturday mornings), and that was before most people had video recorders. I assume most of that is done online nowadays.
The fanfare that accompanied the logo was enough to scare off most viewers:
