Hi there,

I did the C25K from Jan to March 2023, and it was a revelation. I started it with little expectations of success.

I did my first Parkrun in 37 mins in mid March, and did my first 10k in 72 mins in late May.

I then committed to doing the Great North Run and started training in earnest. On Monday this week I ran 20k for the first time without stopping. The GNR is now just over 4 weeks away and I WILL do it.

This community and this C25K plan made it possible in the first place, so a huge thank you.

I can now do 5k in 28.04, 10k in 64.09, and 20k in 120.21

That is absolutely magnificent 👏. We look forward to hearing about the GNR. It's a brilliant programme and having graduated a couple of months ago myself, I'm also successfully increasing time and distance but no where near your achievements yet. Go go go you

Thank you for sharing your inspirational story. I graduated in July and just did my first park run a week ago, but quite up to you yet! But your story makes me want to keep going! Good luck for the GNR! 🏃‍♂️☘️

Brilliant progress, well done John!

Have to say, looking at your 20k time of 120.21 that your 10k best time might be better than 64.09 😉

Yeah, it would be!!

Sadly, it's a type. It should be 140 mins, not 120.

If only!!

That is simply awesome!

Just checking if you are aware that we have a sister forum for 10k distances, and another one for beyond 10ks.

You might find additional ideas for your gorgeously continuing running journeys from those forums.

Here’s a post describing all our forums!
