Have not posted in an age but I like to come on and update as I found it inspirational when i started on this journey. I have been running a year. I graduated from the c25k in August. My first 5k were coming in at just under 50 minutes. I have worked hard and have continued to run consistently and I can now do my local parkrun in 30.50. I am desperate to try and do a sub 30. I am starting on proper cross training work and some strengthening and some speed work so I really would like to have managed it by the end of the summer!
I have also run a 10k and did the Great Midlands Fun Run which was 8.5 miles. I managed that in an hour and 34 minutes so I was pleased with that.
Other than my sub 30 parkrun I am also entered for the Anglesey Half marathon in March of next year. I am really looking forward to that and will start properly training for it at the end of the Summer. My next big goal is the Liverpool Rock n' Roll Marathon but I am thinking 2017 for that
I love running. It has changed my life. It has also changed my families life as we are all a lot more active now.
I just would like to say keep on going to anyone who might be struggling or not sure if they can do it.

Blimey Loubee, that's a really impressive improvement in your 5k time over the year, not to mention all your other achievements. Shows what hard work and commitment can achieve. Very best of luck with your ongoing running adventure
What a great story. started on the C25K programme just over a year ago and I am amazed at where I am now. I don't have a local park run but I'm out 3 days a week - and I can now manage a 10km on Saturday mornings in about 1hr 25min. Never in a million years did I ever think I would be able to do that!! It's posting like yours that have inspired me to keep at it.
