Graduated - what next?!

Hey so I have made it to the end of week 9... I want to keep running but not necessarily go further and further or faster and faster.

I've noticed people who have done C25K seem so to then want to go on to do 10k, 20k, Marathon etc etc - but I just want to keep running 3x a week to keep me fit and healthy, so looking for a way to keep motivated to do it, now that I don't have the C25K app to help me.

Does anyone know of an app that talks to you like the C25K and that keeps you going for the 30 mins of a run?

Thanks!

There is a link in my badge post that is all about 'What next'. Have a read .

And of course, absolutely no need to go further or faster !

After all, they are YOUR runs 😊

Try the NRC app (Nike running club)

It's has loads of guided runs either listed by time or distance , with various coaches.

It's a great app and many on the forums use it .

Enjoy your post graduation runs !

There are some good links in that post about how you might like to keep your runs interesting.

It’s perfectly valid to want to keep running in the way you’ve been enjoying through the programme. I use the Nike Run Club app-that’s got loads of guided runs of different lengths and types. The recovery/easy runs are ideal for just after you graduate. They’re similar in style to the end of programme couch to 5k runs-continuous, comfortably paced runs. It’s been the best thing for my running since couch to 5k. Some people find it cheesy but since it’s free, at least it’s nothing lost if it’s not for you!

EDIT: Instructor57 was clearly typing at the same time as me 😂🙈

you can also mix it up a bit and try different routes, hills, trails, without going for further or faster which can help keep you motivated

congrats, if you’ve kept hold of the app just redo some of the weeks for the prompting 🤗

Well done you. I just listen to Sanjiv week 9 run 3 every time I go out. I like his melodic voice. I also have my music going as well and some times my fit app to tell me how far I've run

Hi there,

Like Oldwoman65 above says, I repeat the C25K week 9 run 2 three times a week and just run for 30 minutes. I have never felt the urge to run any further or longer! I too am in my mid 60's and feel that this is enough to keep the heart and lungs in good shape. I listen to a pod cast on top of the timings from Sarah Millican and that works for me, been doing it for nearly 2 years now and my only add on is that I run as fast as possible for the last 60 seconds (if I can). Sometimes it is more than 5k and sometimes less, but in my opinion it doesn't matter, it is the 30 mins of running that is important, and getting outside for fresh air and a change of scene.

So no worries! Just do what feels right for you.
