Hi all,

Just need advice for foot/ ankle pain.

I complete my week 3 run 1. It feels ok, not as scary as I thought would be, however foot/ ankle pain came on about 6 hours after the run, just wondering if this is normal and if I can resume after the rest day. Pain is around 4/10.

Thank you 😊

🍏Sorry to hear about that pain. If the pain hasn’t subsided by your next run day it’s better to take an extra rest day. If it gets worse it’s best to consult a physio.

You have done well to get 3:1 under your belt.. Hopefully you are running very slowly. You can never run too slowly in the early weeks enabling your tendons, joints and muscles time to adapt to this new exercise. The other important thing is to do some strength & flex exercises on rest days. Keep well hydrated on both run & rest days. Water is a runners best friend!! Hope it’s just a niggle & you can continue but never run with pain!
