I graduate out 4 months ago and continued to run a few times a week, which turned into once a week. Two cruises and a couple of months later and I’ve bitten the bullet and gone back to the gym to see where I am. Shocked is where I am ! I thought I’d jump in at week 3 and power up through the week till I find my level. Well, w3 is my level and I found that a slight challenge ! I’ll now run two more and carry on from there. I really am surprised as to how quickly it’s ebbed away. I suppose being 61 is a factor. I’m gonna crack on and do it again and press on from there.

🍏It’s the determination to pick it up that’s so important and you will encourage someone still wanting to do that!! You are back and that’s good news!! So many of us have been in the same place! Keep on, keeping on.. every run is an achievement whether you complete it or need to redo it! Enjoy ☺️
Welcome back!
Firstly, age really is. just a number... don't let it weigh heavy on your shoulders
Do check this post out, again, just to refresh your memory, and maybe give C25K another run through, again

Many if us have and many have found it was the way to go after a while out... no pushing, no surprises... just a familiar friend.
I'm 61 too and 3 or 4 weeks post grad. It's much harder to run when it's all down to you. But the fact is, it always was. Yes there was Laura (or Steve or whoever your app-friend was) to encourage you, but the get up and get out was down to you. And getting up and out is still an achievement. Whether you start at Week 1, 3 or whenever, this is still you doing it. Really well done!
It's not just an age thing. To run and keep strong at any age requires consistency. Well done getting back to it
A real wakeup call - but I guess fitness works the other way too - and builds quickly as with confidence. You will get there again sooner than you think ...
🐌 🦥 🐌 Slow and steady at our age I guess ...
Be kind to yourself 👍
