The dog made me do it !

After successfully completing the programme some time ago and loving the results .

I find myself joining the many of us re starting and trying again, and again and AGAIN!

With covid, life, work, menopause, ill health and zero motivation getting in the way.

Heston is my “jogging” buddy 🦮.

We completed week 2 run 2 last night - due to his determination to be outdoors - it was a lovely light evening not too warm .

I am posting here to make myself accountable - and to thank him for his “dogged determination” 🤣

Animals give us so much ❤️

Thank you !

It is isnt it ? But we can take no credit - it’s the name he came with. We have almost had him a year . Light of my life ( along side the hubby and big kids of course 🤣!)

Well done on starting again, my 2 dogs are my life as well, they are both disabled but are happy little souls, although i don't take them running with me (they wouldn't be able to keep up with me as i am so fast) 😆 only joking, they both cant run so just a gentle walk for both of them.

Love the idea of posting to make yourself accountable. Maybe at the end of every week you can provide an update - with fabulous photos like that and the many dog lovers here you're bound to get an active following of people to cheer on your progress 🙂

it’s an excellent idea. I find so much positivity and encouragement just reading other people’s progress x

That's wonderful! I am longing for a dog (partly to take me running) but my four cats will not allow it!

I love all animals - but couldn’t see our feline friends being down for the programme!!!

There’s a problem with posting photos in replies! It’s been flagged up to tech and they’re working on a fix. You could try replying to your very first post and seeing if that picture appears. It’s a nuisance! Hopefully it’ll be sorted soon.

Sometimes other things in life just gets in the way so stay strong and carry on👍🥰.

Oh and Heston are you camera shy?😂😂😂

took my dog woodie on my second run today and he was either being quite naughty or under my feet but I have a vision and hopefully we will run in unison in the future 😂 . I am a newbie to C25K but have run in the past. I downloaded the app 3 years ago and used it for the first time this week. I have any many fitness successes over the years and still, here I am at square one again. I think approaching it from the perspective of know we can do it but it may be a different journey / experience this time. Fresh start. I look forward to following your progress and more fab pictures.

Hi Giagg,

The programme is amazing . I had so many doubts before starting it the first time .

But taking your own pace and just getting out there is success. On hard days I just used to think it’s a 30 walk. And if it even was - that was good . I think Heston and I are learning together and the warm up lets him have his sniffs.

Don’t think of it a square one but a great new start . We can get through this and trotting merrily to the other side together. Xx

I absolutely love this! I don’t think my guinea pigs would thank me for taking them running but I love them both. Heston sounds like a wonderful run buddy. Beautiful picture 😍

Really looking forward to hearing about how you and Heston (great name!) are getting on ❤️🏃‍♀️🐕

Thanks for your awesome post Saltychip! I can really relate as my dog Parker is the ultimate motivator! Well said on the doggy determination. I know without my jogging partner I would have found an excuse or two already. Way to keep going!

Very well done for ‘keeping trying’ 👍😀 I agree animals give and give. Doggies certainly get us out and about and keep us moving. My running buddy - Mr Squiggy , the Springer, features in many of my posts!
