Newbie here hello

Chunkyfunkymammyvon profile image

Hi all I’m new here, I have been plodding along on c25k for 6 weeks now. I was 16 stone 2 at the start of this journey and now down to 14 stone 12 still lots to go and actually not as focused on the scales more what I look like and more importantly feel.

I ran 25 minutes today this feels like a miracle I started c25k after watching the london marathon I have applied and Hoping I get in if not I may apply for a charity place but lots of work to do. This is my mid life crisis I have accepted that 😂

Anyone else doing the same ?

I have booked the great Scottish run 10K in October too if anyone has any recommendations for a app like c25k that will get me too 10K?

I have been documenting my journey on TikTok too @tootsievon :)

Hello and welcome! Apologies I missed your post-migraine yesterday and I’m playing catch up.

Well done for your progress the most wonderful exercise programme known to man (I’m totally biased and not ashamed to admit it!). It sounds like you’ve got the bug! You’re doing brilliantly, and congratulations on the weight loss too. That’s no easy feat.

I’m in the London ballot too-let’s hope we’re both lucky! In the mean time, enjoy your runs. You’ve got exciting times ahead of you! Step by step will get you there.

When you’re ready, we’ve got a Bridge to 10k forum for building from 5k to 10k. There are a variety of options. I did the magic plan which isn’t an app but could be done with guided runs from the Nike Run Club app. That’s a great one to move on to post c25k.

You might also like to visit the slightly scarily named but not at all scary Marathon and Race Support board where I’m sure if you ask about the Great Scottish 10k, someone will have done it. They’re a super friendly bunch over there with runners of all levels. You will be made very welcome!
