Morning to you all! How’s your week been? Have you been running through heat and thunderstorms or has the weather been kind to you?

I got back from my run on Sunday feeling like I was going to melt. Never has anyone had such a red face…except last year when I did my first holiday run in Greece. I’d gone super early but totally underestimated the heat. As I was walking home, passers by were literally stopping me to ask me if I was ok! Oldfloss has some hot run tips that are well worth reading here…

That reminded me about the joys of holiday running. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s a brilliant thing to look forward to. There’s something extra special about packing your trainers and setting out in an unfamiliar place to explore. It’s a great way to convince yourself a real runner if you’ve still got a bit of imposter syndrome too.

Have you tried any holiday runs yet? If you’ve got a holiday coming up, why not take your kit just in case? Maybe give yourself a little holiday experience at home by trying running somewhere new. You’ll be amazed that even familiar places feel very different when you’re running.

Hope it’s been a great week for you all. Can’t wait to hear what you’ve all been up to! ❤️❤️❤️

I was hoping to get out in Spain last week but it was red hot! So did a lot of walking in place of it! I was going out yesterday but it was red hot here so again did another walk and was planning a club run but due my car did not return from the garage as planned early evening!

Today I have already done a walk and planning a run in the early evening today hopefully the car is returned later today!

Sometimes the best run really is no run! I’m sure you had a good time regardless! Walking is great and a really good alternative if it’s too hot to run.

Crossing fingers for your car to be home soon 🤞

Hi MissUnderstanding, where I live in Central Scotland the weather has been fine and sunny for over 3 weeks, I went a short 3K run then a short 3K bike ride in light rain on Sunday morning and a trip to the seaside on Monday, tomorrow Wednesday I intend to run another 10K starting no later than 7.30 am to avoid the heat of later in the day, that's a lovely photo above, enjoy the rest of the day in the sunshine. 😊

Thanks Alan-it certainly sounds like you’ve been making the most of the weather. The Scottish scenery is stunning!

I’ve had a lovely day. Once I cooled down, I got lots of work done and almost bought some more running shorts. Very productive! Once it cools down, I’ll have an evening walk to finish off my steps for the day!

Fantastic! Reading your reports over on Bridge, I guessed you’d been enjoying yourself! Lovely photo and I’m so envious that you can cool off after your run with a swim!

Off in a few days. Trainers ready for packing ☀️😁 Promised myself I’ll run without Mr Garmin on my hols. Not sure if I can do it 😂😂!

How exciting! Have a fantastic time away. Watch free running is both liberating and challenging at the same time! I’ve found it easier as I’ve got more experienced. Having some lovely holiday scenery to keep your mind occupied will be a help I’m sure. Can’t wait to hear about how you’ve got on!

First consolidation run today away in the Derbyshire Peak District. Set off early again for the comparative cool of the day, but the hills nearly did for me. 167m of climbing in 3k covered! Not used to that level of ascent. Then off for a walk too. Must be a glutton for punishment.

Absolutely beautiful! I used to live near the Derbyshire Peaks. Really hoping to fit in some holiday runs up there…so envious it’s on your doorstep! That’s some serious elevation. Super impressed. The main thing with running after you graduate is to enjoy yourself and you certainly look like you’re doing that! ❤️

hi MissUnderstanding ….I always pack my running kit first…my favourite place to run was Jamaica…I ran a couple of times on the beach in Montego Bay but it was boiling so the runs ended up in the air conditioned gym!!

I’m not going away untilnext March now, a cruise round Barbados, Antigua, Dominica and I know there’s a running track round the ship so that will probs be my next holiday run…for now, Yorkshire will have to do…but, it’s the best place in the world you know 😉

You’ve inspired me to go and find more places to run, even though I’m not on holiday…I’ve decided I need to get my ‘runners eye’ back..checking out new places wherever I am…

Gosh…there’s a lot of inspiration flying about on here this morning 🥰
