Sometimes that happens during a run. Don’t think of it as giving up. You made a sensible decision to cut your run short. You still ran for 17 out of the 20 minutes which means you completed 85% of that run. That’s not nothing!

It’s worth looking back and seeing if there’s anything you could change for next time to give yourself the best chance of having a good run. Might you have gone off a bit fast? That’s really common in week 6! Had you eaten too much or not enough close to your run? Maybe you were dehydrated or the weather was hot which makes it harder. Perhaps you were tired or coming down with something and a rest day could have been needed. Sometimes there’s no obvious reason and it’s just one of those days.

It happens to us all. It doesn’t mean you’re a bad runner. You’ll be better because you’ve got the experience of that tough run today which will help you on the future. Take some really good rest and next time, I’m sure you’ll have a better time. Choose a route you enjoy and take it extra steady. Really good luck to you.

Thank you very much. Guess you are right. It will BE netter next time and hey, it was a run and I did something good to my mental health.

There’s no shame in going back and repeating earlier weeks (which you know you can do) until you feel comfortable and ready for the next challenge. I did that twice - now I only have one run left before graduating… and listening to your body is eminently sensible, the last thing you want is to overdo it and end up injuring yourself. You’ll get there.
