5 km Run 1 with coffee and Cake

So today a group of us well 3 team leaders two managers and two group members decided in stead of skipping our 1st Run of week as it’s BH Monday set off to a country park in the grounds of Knole House!

When we left home the Sun was out in our valley so left my hoody at home! On arrival it was bloody chilly! Hey hoy no backing out now!

So after waiting for the cafe to open to have a commercial break before we started!

So off we pop up the hill around the outside of Knole House across the front of the house and down the other side of the house out into the park all around us are fallow deer the stags have just started growing this years antlers so they are all velvety! I was run walking with my run manager as she has injured her calf and me with my doggy shoulder and asthma! The 1st hill was a very long drag up hill for 1.5km then we turned back on ourselves i have to admit we slowed right down to a very speedy jog to this point then a slow run along the flat and then down hill a bit then climbing back up hill following the path towards the golf course good job we had our bright Green running tops on so the golfers could see us! As we run back down hill before turning right at the bottom of the hill back up to the House and we are done just over 5k! 1 min slower than the park run! Time for coffee and cake in the café before heading home to finish packing for my holiday!

Just as the sun came out from the clouds to warm up the day!

Hope you don’t mind me asking BGood , have I got it right that you’re an experienced runner using couch to 5k as a rough guide to return to running after an injury? So your run today was a bit of a variation on the week 9 run 1 theme?

Just for the benefit of newbies-week 9 run 1 is a 30 minute run and distance doesn’t matter at all.

Yes that’s right! I have been running on and off for 7yrs! I broke my Shoulder on 30th January! Hence using this as rehabilitation plan! I am still not up to running a whole 5k yet but just got back to 30mins running asthma allowing!
