Another first run.

Signed up three years ago sadly only did one run - so another start. Just completed the first run and it went ok. I'm making no goals or targets other than to be as fit as I can for the age that I am.

Well done on making the first step and restarting 🙂I have only just started week 4 so can't offer much advice but I would definitely read all the info available on this site. The biggest mistake I was making in the beginning was going too fast. Slow and steady is what you're looking for and you should still be able to hold a conversation whilst running. I wasn't doing this the first week or two and struggled but once I found the pace I can do this at I have been able to run the times required, so far, and not been completely out of breath afterwards.

Good luck on your running journey.

Thank you. And good luck to you too on your running journey. Yes, I went very slowly - in fact I was probably moving quicker when I was walking than when I was running.Best wishes.

Welcome back and you are following a fair few of us who have restarted or repeated C25K...

Well done you !

Please, do read the essential info... healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It has some really great advice and useful information to keep you going, ( main point) and to help you stay injury free and having fun!

Keep posting; even a short post... there is support here and if you post folk will begin to see you and be there for you. Pop in to the Catch-Up Corner too,

Loads of folk there chatting, sharing their joys and their woes too. We talk about so much there, from running gremlins to how to breathe when you run!

Slow and steady is my famous mantra on here, or should that be infamous? That is the way!

Now... how old are you? I am 73 and in my 8th year of running? Your turn now!

I usually run Mondays .. Wednesdays and Fridays. I completed W8R2 on Wednesday morning BUT i am now away til Sunday night. I did pack my running gear but havent found anywhere suitable …. Staying next to a busy dual carriageway and motorway.

Obviously I intend to run again on Monday but I am wondering whether to restart W8 or startW9….. the run on W9 R1 is only 2mins longer than W8. Is it cheating/silly to miss R3 …. I am getting so excited as i head towards my goal.

Ps I am just a few months younger than youOld Floss as you’ve probably gathered from my name!

You’ve done the hardest run in my opinion, I’m only beginning week 5 but nothing is as hard as those first two runs so far!

Keep it slow, listen to your body but not so much any negativity from your brain! And keep your rest days. Your body does need them.

I’m amazed at how this programme is working so far, I’ve never been able to run longer than I am on this ever before. It really seems to be working so far. So doggedly stick with it and soak up any advice on here along the way. Maybe post your runs when you feel like it too. It’s something I haven’t done yet but feel maybe I should have, it’s nice to get a little boost and advice on the way. And everyone seems very friendly.

So many of us have a false start or two and then when the time is right, have a successful run through and graduate. That’s what happened for me! I tried getting into runs a decade ago and it just didn’t work for me. This time? Hooked! Really good luck to you 💪❤️🏃‍♀️
