Well I did it, after putting off my run for 2days, because I was scared I would fail to complete it. I just slowed my pace on the treadmill and managed both 8 min runs with out stopping.

Very well done !

But there's nothing to be scared of .

It's just a run.

But you are right to slow it down , it's all about the pace 🙂👍

I still get nervous before some runs. There’s often no logic to it. I’ve run for a long time but I’ll get in a huge pickle about a little one.

The thing that helps me most is to just start and tell myself that it’s ok to stop if I need to. All I have to do is have a go and see what happens. I don’t beat myself up about feeling scared or not positive enough. I just accept that that’s how I feel but I’m still going to do the run anyway. Usually I get into the swing of things, have a lovely time and the runs get finished. Occasionally I’ll not cover the distance I was aiming for and I’ll do it later. That’s not a fail. It’s all good exercise.

Running is such a mental game. We all doubt ourselves. It’s good to find strategies to counter them so they don’t stop us achieving what we want to. The best thing is every time you complete a run you felt scared of, it reinforces that your feelings don’t have get in the way.

Really well done for getting that run done. You should be extra proud of yourself for batting away the demons. You’ll have more ammunition now if they come back! ❤️🏃‍♀️💪
