I finished my first week on Friday and although I kinda enjoyed it I’m feeling scared about what’s to come. Iv looked through what the next 8 weeks consist of and I feel scared I won’t be able to do it. Iv syked myself up to do this in 9 weeks so taking longer will feel like a huge failure. Is anyone else feeling like this?

Don't be scared - it's truly an adventure. I just finished my second week and made the executive decision to repeat the second week (no one said you HAVE to do it in exactly 9 weeks). Good luck and happy running!!

You will be fine if you focus on the task and do not be put off. Read the advice on here. The information about your body's oxygen depletion made all the difference to me. Take a look at my posts. Your post is very similar to mine and I am now on W8 having started in January.

You should feel perfectly okay about repeating a week if you need to consolidate. Don’t be hard on yourself: everyone doing the C25K struggles at times, and part of the training is learning to work within your own limits, while also stretching those limits! 😊

Fear not! You are following thousands of people who followed the programme and went from not running to running for 30 minutes after 9 weeks. I do wonder why this would feel like a failure if say it took you 10 weeks, surely that would be an amazing achievement too.

Read the guides under the FAQs and have faith in this amazing programme🏃🏾‍♀️

If you read ahead to the coming weeks it does seem a lot but if you just do one run at a time the programme really will take you there.

Have faith in it and yourself. You'll soon be surprised.

You're not alone with those thoughts, I thought exactly the same but the system works! 👍😁

A couple of years ago I kept returning to week 1 as I felt week 2 seemed too much. I started C25K again 4 weeks ago and am doing the weeks as laid down and I’m benefitting from just concentrating on the particular run I’m up to. I’m surprised how far I’ve got but if I can do it anyone can. Take a chance so you don’t get bored. X

Then,, do not defeat yourself before you begin :) Slow and steady is the way and you will do this.

It may take longer than none weeks bit that does not matter. Many have felt as you do, and many will, who follow you. But you will do it .

Anticipation not apprehension... delight not dismay, this is an enjoyable journey, have fun. You will learn so much about running and about yourself. the benefits physical and mental are incredible.

Keep posting for great support and advice too :)

If it takes you 9 weeks or 90 weeks, it's okay, it's all good stuff. Getting out and more active is the point, if you have to repeat a few runs, or a few weeks that's normal. But don't think ahead about that, just focus on each individual run.

Not what you're looking for?
