SO pleased to have got to this point. The run feels OK: effortful, yes, but not a struggle, as I'm running really slowly - covering about 4k over the walk-run-walk of 35 mins. I'm also running slowly to try and improve my fitness. I'm nearly 50 and my bpm varies in the 150s and sometimes 160s when running (should my device be trusted) which seems a bit high so I try to slow down when I notice this.

I have entered a 'Run for Life' fundraising run which is at the end of May with 2 weeks left of the programme. This will be a 5k. I know I don't have to run the whole thing but obviously with this prep behind me I'd really like to.

Would welcome the very good advice I always get on here!

hi  RunforMum , well done on your progress so far…the only advice I can give you is to keep it slow…slower than slow & I am sure that by the time your 5k comes around you’ll be just about ready
