2nd try at couch to 5k

I am a typical 50 yr old, I used to be fit but life has led me to being overweight, stressed, and in my head to busy to do exercise.

My wife has just completed the course and I am shocked as to how well she has done, I never expected her to become a runner suffering with arthritis but she has done it!

I tried but failed previously as I went out to fast without stretching and got an injury.

I am trying again now and 🤞 after stretching properly I am starting week six with no injury, and starting to be optimistic about completing the couch to 5k.

Hoping that my wife and I can start Park runs after 🤞

Love your username! Welcome and congratulations on starting again and all the progress you’ve made. I did couch to 5k last year and my husband started running after I did. It’s wonderful to head out together. Hopefully that’s an experience you’ll really enjoy too.

So many of us go a bit fast and then realise how nice it is (and better for our development) to run at a conversational pace. It’s great you’ve spotted how important stretching is. It’s worth picking up some strength and flex work too to help your resistance to injury. Hang on to your recovery days too. There’s a useful programme guide here if you haven’t seen it yet with all sorts of hints and tips.
