I feel elated.😁I always hated running.

30+ years ago I was always walking at the back on school runs.

I just couldn't do it.

Turns out I could... it's just that no-one showed me how.

Trust the programme.

That was exactly my experience RunforMum , though my schooldays are even further behind me!

Well done you, keep trusting the programme and yourself, and I bet you'll be surprised with what you can achieve!

I opted for Cross Country at school. Don't know what I was thinking as I was a smoker. (That's how much I disliked Cricket).

It was a regular 3.5 mile road run. Smokers would run out to the 30 mile\hour signs, (about 300yds). Cut up through a field to the back of the Convent next door and duck into the hedge for the cigarette that you had down your sock.

Appropriate amount of time passed and you rejoined the pack at the rear, other side of the Convent. It was downhill, back to the changing rooms. Total distance < 1 mile. Thought I hated running. Hadn't run since.

Then at 61, I said to myself, "What's this C25k, then?" It seemed to work for others. Could it work for me? (No idea where that notion came from).

It "found" me! I'm here, now, and I'm not going back! I often wonder, should I go and do that run again, (without the smoke break). That would be interesting...

Absolutely brilliant. Congratulations to you. 🏃‍♀️💪🎉

Hold on to that smile and be prepared for an even bigger one with your next run coming up. The best of the whole programme. Enjoy!!!

I am in exactly the same place as you - Week 5, Run 2 done. It felt like a real step up from the previous weeks and I will admit to feeling a bit anxious but it is in the bag!

Yeah, I'm nervous about the 20 minute run, but I was nervous about the 3, 5, 8.... it's all in my mind!!

I was similar. I always walked the cross-country at middle school. I traced out the route on a map a year or so ago. It was only a mile! I do that nowadays in about 10 minutes.
