I tried c25k last summer and had to stop at start of week 7 due to knees swelling, diagnosed with gout. It was really demorallising to get that far and then have to stop. 3 months of meds later and I decided to give it another try with a view to just trial and error, always take a rest day between runs and see how my knees and feet held up.
Happy to announce it has been going great. Just completed run 2 of wk 9. No inflammation this time around. Can't believe I'm now running 30 minutes straight. Last run of the programme is this wkend and then off on a short holiday to celebrate. I'd say "wish me luck" but tbh I'm pretty confident I've got this.....but then I guess that's the programme working.
