Week 3 Run 1

That was a killer and I really was not in the frame of mind to go and do it. I think it's been a great incentive having the app as you to book your next run as soon as you finish your run so it prompts me on the day that it's a run day. I've been thinking all day of reasons not to do it but I know it's just me procrastinating and worrying about the new week ahead. It was hard to up the running time but I did it and it's done now. Next run penciled in!!

Missed this earlier, sorry! Congratulations on getting through a tough run. Those really show us what we’re made of and it turns out, you’re made of strong stuff 💪🏃‍♀️♥️!

Really well done to you.

Good for you for getting out there and getting your run in, even though you didn't want to! Sometimes running is as much a mind game as it is physical!

I always spend all day trying to talk myself out of a run. I wish I could go first thing in the morning and just get it done, but I'm really not a morning person 🤣 Well done for getting out there!

Well done Mamanurse! 👏🏼

I know how you feel. Have you figured out why it was a killer? If you can nibble away at the reasons it will get far better, plus your body will gradually build its aerobic base and you will feel better for that.

Were you well rested, well nourished, well hydrated on non-run days and run days prior? Were you protecting yourself from injury or even pain or discomfort by warming up properly with dynamic pre-exercise stretches then later cooling down with post-exercise static stretches? I use the ones in the app with Steph.

I found I had to remove all barriers to going out running. I had to make it as easy as possible to get out there. Initially it sounded ridiculously simple but obsessive to get all of my running kit together and ready and even lay it out the night before a morning run, but when it came to the morning and all I had to do was put it on I saw the wisdom of it. Getting my kit ready included making sure my mobile and ear phones were fully charged and I had my house key there. I started going to bed earlier and I got up earlier even though I was really not an early morning person. I became an early morning person, up before everyone else, before all the responsibilities of the day come rushing in, with nothing else to do or think about but my run.

I saw sunrises and skyscapes to gladden the heart. I saw wonders of nature. I saw some of the best of humanity. I always came back feeling better for having done it. It got easier and I got stronger and fitter faster than I ever thought possible, just by following this brilliant C25K plan.

And you will too.
