A collar bone injury during the London marathon? Have I got that right?! Wow that’s so unlucky.

Really good luck for Tuesday! Think about the relief you’ll feel when it’s finished-you’ll be a runner who ran just recently rather than five months ago and that makes the world of difference when you come to do run 2.

Keep it extra steady and don’t worry about pushing yourself. It’s pretty normal to feel a bit out of sorts and uncoordinated, almost as if you’ve never run before. That’s certainly how I felt on my recent comeback-after-a-fall run anyway! The good news if your body will soon remember what to do. I’m assuming you might have done a fair bit of running before? Your skills and experience from before will stand you in great stead this time.

Really good luck to you. We get a lot of people using c25k as a route back into running after a break (sometimes literally a break like poor you!) and it is usually a really positive experience. Apologies if I’ve got anything wrong from reading your post!

No, you’ve got it right, fell over and landed full weight on my shoulder!! The break is very close to the shoulder so it’s taken a while to heal! Thanks for replying😃

Poor you! I’ve had two falls-one while walking where I broke both elbows and one while running where I sprained: both wrists (badly), both elbows (mildly) and a knee. Just sending lots of sympathy for what you must have been through with your recovery!

My injuries weren’t anywhere near as bad as yours sounds and the hardest thing I found was the frustration with not being where I was before I fell. It helped to think of it as a new experience and not compare with my previous runs. You may find you’re straight back into it and feeling great so this is all moot! It’s probably useful to be mentally prepared for it to feel a bit strange and unfamiliar. Just remember to be patient and it will pass.

Looking forward to your updates. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Your falls etc sound dreadful - not sure I’d have kept going after those!! Yes, I’ve done a fair bit of running but as I get older it takes longer to get back to it!! Fortunate to have understanding Running and non-running friends!!!
