Couch25k has finally made me a runner

In May 22 I started Couch25k for the third time in 5 years. Perhaps I was more determined this time - by late autumn I was still running about 30 mins every other day, and even doing some 5ks (in about 34 mins). A vicious cold put a stop to exercise a month ago but today I headed out again, wondering if all fitness was gone. Reason for this post is to say my 3k in 25 mins today proves to me once and for all the brilliance of the C25k programme. I’ll never break records but I’d also never have thought I’d be able to think of myself as A Runner, and more importantly feel reasonably fit again. So to anyone out there who’s struggling - it’s worth it. Keep going.

This is great to hear-couch to 5k is such a force for good.

Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell-the bugs around this year have been awful. A lot of us have been laid up over the Christmas period. Take it slow and consider taking extra rest days if you need them. Glad you were able to get back out there today-you should be very proud of yourself, fellow runner! 🏃‍♀️❤️🏃‍♀️
