About a month ago I wrote about starting to run again after a hip replacement in February. It had gone well and starting at week 4 I did three runs before coming down with a nasty cough and cold (not Covid!) that laid me low. I ventured out again for the first time since then on Tuesday 13 and continued yesterday, once again starting at week 4 - seems to be my go to week! I covered 2.9km at my niko niko pace and my new hip seems perfectly happy with it. I'm being assiduous with stretching afterwards as my thigh muscles occasionally tighten up a bit. I'm hoping actually to progress to week 5 at some point but only when I’m sure - just happy to be back running at all.

So good to see you back up and running! Fabulous! You certainly got this!
Oh that must feel so good! Well done Mustbe - you must be really pleased 😊.
All sounding very positive...you are clearly taking it slow and steady. Well done you !
You give me hope! I’ve had pain in my left hip for about 6 months and I’ve been putting off doing anything about it as I thought having a new hip meant the end of running. Your example is really encouraging, thank you.
This is very interesting as there must be quite a few people with hip replacements wondering if running is at all possible after the operation. I wish you continued success. Please report your progress here. 👍😀
That sounds great, bet you're pleased to be running again, and week 4 is a good place to be, no hurry to do more
great run for you I’m watching your progress as I need a new hip and thought that would be the end of my running days. Good luck and take it easy. 🎉⛄️🎄⛄️
