Several weeks ago, after completing Week 5 run 2, I was hit with a horrible chest cold that kept me from running for about a week. Once I felt better, I decided to start Week 5 from the beginning and go from there. Felt bad to miss Tim's Run ( still sick), but to be honest, many of them have very much felt like aTim's run because before the tricky ones (Week 5 run 3, Week 6 run 1, and todays week 6 run 3) I went back to things he had written about those and his advice just stayed with me through all of them. Grateful for all of the information he shared here, and happy to have finished week 6 run 3, that one was worrying me!
One question: a few times, toward the end of the run, Laura suggests picking up the pace a bit if you're feeling ok. I know we've been told not to run striking the heel, as she suggests. I wonder if this recommendation is similar, or if it is ok to try?
Thanks!

Brilliant job- I'd say every run is now a Tim run
If you have something else to give at the end go for it!
If (like me) you just need to get to the end - that's fine too!
Thank you! Yes, often it’s just to get to the end, but today when she said there was only 60 more seconds I thought it might feel good to go a little faster! Next time I feel that way I’ll try it.
So good to hear that you loved week 7! I’ll have to see how it goes!
Well done you . If you feel like picking up the pace...do it. Your body is your best guide. Sometimes we can...sometimes, as Helen says , we just need to cross the line.Me , I like to finish with a bit left in the tank.. ready to cross the line in style.. it doesn't always work.
You are doing wonderfully! Glad you're feeling better x
Denise Lewis said the same thing to me when I was doing c25k-I trust Denise! You’ll be running most of your run at a conversational pace so it’s fine to have a little pick up at the end when the coach suggests it. You should be nice and warmed up by then and you’ll have your cool down walk plus stretches afterwards.
Listen to your body-it’s absolutely fine to keep at the same level, or even slow down, if you need to. The most important thing is to complete the run feeling good rather than trying to do it more quickly or cover more distance.
Really good luck for your next run and glad you’re feeling better. ❤️
