I'm on week 6 run 3 but I haven't been out for 2 weeks. I've just lost motivation. Fell poorly then the kids were poorly, no we have snow. I'm feeling so deflated.I was really wanting to complete this and get my first parkrun in before then end of the year š£

Chin up.... !
Sometimes, we have so little control over what life hurls at us...you are human... you get ill, your children do and they need you... and now. the weather sticks the oar in too.
But... the great news is.... despite all this... the runs wait. Yes, they do.... !
You are feeling better hopefully, the children, (thanks to you), are getting better too... the weather...well , the snow will stop and you will run again!
Two weeks since I ran...extra care days for my small granddaughter. freezing fog and snow and ice,,, I have not lost my motivation,, it is still there, just biding the time..!
Head across to the S and F forum, check out some exercise to keep you going until the better weather, there is loads to choose from.... You will get out there and if you don't make a Park Run before the end of the year... guess what... the Park Run is till there too.
We are in this together and we will come through it together... believe me... you can do this x
PS
Your motivation is under your running shoes... when you have chance to pick them up there it will be x
Life has a bad habit of getting in the way! Don't be hard on yourself-it happens to us all at times. If youāve been unwell, youāre best recovering and itās a really sensible decision not to run if conditions arenāt right.
Yes, you might finish a week or two after new year, but in the grand scheme of things, does that really matter? You have years and years of happy running ahead of you. A week or two is nothing. Thereās no reason that you canāt go to park run before the end of the year if thatās something youād like to do. Plenty of people walk, run, or walk and run. You can do your c25k run there and just walk the end to reach the finish. Donāt let feeling you need to run it all put you off.
In your position, Iād go back a week or two and choose a run I knew Iād be able to complete. See how that goes and pick up from there. Thereās really no rush to finish. Every run you do is making you fitter, stronger and a better runner. If the weather means itās icy or snowy underfoot, think about doing something else instead. The Strength and Flex board has some brilliant ideas for things you can do at home.
Really good luck to you. A wise person on here told me that mojo is found inside your running shoes! I bet once youāve been out there again it will be easier to find again.
Great minds think alike...? Its so true, things wait..The mojo can hide under the running shoes too, along with the running gremlins...pick them up...the gremlins run for cover.. the mojo stays with you ...
I need to remember that if I get out for a run Wednesday . First in just over two weeks ! X
.
Good luck for Wednesday happening! I think itāll be at least another week for me but if the weather plays nicely, Iām looking forward to a walk.
Thank you both for your support. Hard to see it thst way when it's you finding it tough. I will get back out there this week šāāļø
hi afwmummyto3 ā¦try not to feel deflatedā¦you are busy with three childrenā¦probably feeling a little bit stressed with Christmas coming up, Christmas shopping, Christmas concerts, carol services etcā¦all that on top of not being 100% you probably didnāt really recover from being poorly before you were nursing themā¦
Your runs will be waiting for you when youāre firing on all your cylindersā¦goal posts can always be moved..doing park run will feel all the more sweeter when you get there x
Here's a thought. Many people learn to run at Parkrun and go no where near C25K. My first PR I completed in 40 minutes but there were people there 'jeffing' that is running and walking ahead of me. I found some of my walk/run phases of C25K covered more ground than the later longer runs. Why say this? To get your mojo back could you make time to go along to your local PR before Xmas as a present to yourself - the present of time that is, and walk and jog round the 5k? You don't even have to register to do this. The joy of running will return.
This is contrary to some other advice you might receive but if it really is about motivation and mojo the longer you do nothing..........
It will do you no harm, just remember the mantras of C25K, conversational pace and no pain.
Chin up. Keep running, keep smiling.
My mojo keeps running away. Next time I find it I will nail it to the floor. At 75 when the mojo goes on holiday for a while I don't beat myself up.
