I found my last run hard but then realised that I am picking up speed (naturally) because my half way bell is now further down my route then where it use to ring. It’s 28 min x3 next week and I need to remind myself that I need to slow down abit to survive the whole journey 🤣

It’s easy to speed up without noticing, especially when it’s cold. I did a freezing foggy run the other day, got ten minutes in and realised I’d gone off like a rocket and almost conked out. I think psychologically I wanted the run to finish sooner which was silly because it was a timed run!

Well done for spotting it. Keep reminding yourself to be smart and steady, especially at the beginning of your runs. Check your breathing regularly by seeing if you can say a full sentence out loud without gasping. You might find that as your body warms up, the same effort results in a slightly faster pace. The numbers themselves really don’t matter-it’s how you feel. Breathing is key!

Really good luck. You’re doing brilliantly and before you know it, you’ll be requesting your graduate badge!

Well done Mezzysu!!!

Definitely slow down a bit, you can always speed up if you feel able to during your run. Then you know what you've got to give. Remember that you need to be able to have a conversation whilst running, that's the optimum level for everything!

I can't wait to hear about your runs next week, go get 'em! 🤓🏃

Not a bad idea, a key to speed is more endurance which is achieved by longer slow runs.

Pace hard to get right. I use my Garmin watch blu tooth to ear pods to give me my pace each minute so I can adjust run as necessary. Good luck with your running.
