I was talking to one of the new mums at the school who started the C25K in September. All six of them completed it last week. They had adopted the same philosophy as us in that they all stuck together, they were either all going to succeed or all fail as a group.
She was the youngest of her group at just 24 and was surprised how difficult she found the first few weeks. She had been very sporty at school and in the hockey and netball teams and thought the C25K would have been easy for her and only really did it as her friends were doing it. After the third week, she started to find it easier than some of the others in her group as her fitness returned.
Their plan is keep doing the 30 minute runs then look to increase the time in the new year. They are purposely not checking the distance yet but have noticed that each of their 30 minute runs has taken the slightly further each time.
She said she initially thought that just running was going to be boring and that she would miss the competitive team elements she had enjoyed at school but says when she sees other runners on her rest day she feels she wants to get out an join them. I think she is getting addicted!!
