Three Left and one week

That was absolutely horrific that final run of Week 8. The weather was chucking it down, I was totally soaked through even when wearing waterproofs. Puddles everywhere cars driving through flooded areas, footways were also flooded even with the head torch could not see all the deviations in levels and therefore some areas had running water on the footways so feet were completely soaked. Now trying to dry my waterproofs and trainers stuffed with newspapers. I should of gone tomorrow as weather forecast much better than today. Hope every one is healthy and able to run and picks better times to run than I did.

Sorry about your bad run 3 of week 8/28 minute run Papillon17, there have been lots of heavy rain today, perhaps as you say you should have left it until tomorrow, anyway well done on completing it in that awful weather, only 3 more runs until you graduate again, let's hope that the weather will be better

There has been some particularly epic rain around at the moment. You’ve experienced that now so you’ve got that to draw on if you get caught out by unexpected rain. You know what it’s like so maybe next time you might choose to stay home. Either way, you’ve earned yourself a massive treat after such a tough run.

One of the best kit investments I made was a second pair of trainers so I could let a wet pair dry out properly. There’s something utterly miserable about starting in cold, damp trainers.

You did the run. Tick. It was tough. Tick. Extra grit added to your run diary? Big tick! Bring on week 9-just three runs to go now. Time to start planning some celebrations!

Hi Papillon - I did a run in heavy rain like yours last time I did the C25K and it put me off running for ages - all my running gear was sticking to me, my trainers were squelching and afterwards it took me forever to warm up again. I now avoid heavy wind and rain as I know it doesn't help my long-term motivation. I'd say after my experience, the run after this one - W9R1 - is going to be the important one - just make sure that you go in good weather and enjoy yourself :)

I intend to believe me. Yet the first time I did C25K I ran between January and March and the runs were in fog, wind, rain and snow and was going 3 x aweek. Now spend the week before checking the weather for the following week to pick my run nights.
