Did you get rained on today?

I have just got back from a run where I got totally soaked. I actually don’t mind that too much as long as it starts to rain after I’ve warmed up and as long as it’s not windy as well as wet. So I was just wondering if anyone else got soaked today? And how they feel about it…

I got soaked two weeks ago when I was running a 5K, however, it was only on the last kilometer that the rain got heavy, I wouldn't go out if the rain was heavy but you can't do much if you are caught in a heavy shower, if you get very wet change immediately you get home into dry clothes.

I did my c25k in January this year so I got used to it straight away and I really like running in the rain. It makes me feel like a hero. Windy and wet is harder. I haven’t been out yet but I’m hoping to squeeze in a 5k later today. The hot shower after a rainy run is just divine!

I ran 10 miles a couple of Sundays ago and it absolutely threw it down the whole 1 HR and 40 mins, but I loved it!!🤣🌧️🌧️.I don't know why, but I really enjoy running in the rain. Yes, must admit I was pretty cold when I got in but soon got warm. 😃

Wow! I definitely wouldn’t want to spend that much time running in the wet. 30 minutes was quite enough for me.

Haha, I have to say it was a bit longer than I'd normally be out!!🌧️🌧️🤣

Had a race booked for the end of March this year and I have a distinct memory of a training run pushing into the wind during a heavy downpour. Or the sunny winter afternoon when I was so late heading out that it was dark and raining by the time that I set off. There is a feeling of satisfaction at having pushed on through but I still prefer summer rain or, even better, cool and sunny weather.

Checked the forecast first thing so I was able to complete today’s walk before the rain arrived. 😎

I find it hard to get out of the door when it's raining but always enjoy it when I do. My last wet run was on Saturday-a good splishy splashy not too cold wet run. Nothing brings out the inner child like running straight through puddles when you have reached the "can't get any wetter" stage! I do make sure that my run finishes close to home so that I don't get cold at the end, the washing machine is standing ready for the wet kit and the water is hot for that blissful post run shower.

Happy running!

I like your point about running through puddles. Will remember that for the next time that I get soaked!

In the summer, light rain I find refreshing and would even venture out while it was raining. Heavy rain like we had this weekend is not something I enjoy. If it rains while I am out, and its not too cold then it is bearable, but when it is hammering down, I look out and think of a few more chores I can do before hand, just in case there is a break.

Sunday morning it looked like it was going to rain all day, but then it stopped long enough for me to get changed and out the door. I though a quick 5K and I would be home again before it got going again.

Of course, it had tricked me. About a minute into my run and it started again, two minutes in and it was getting heavy and I considered turning back. By three minutes in and there was no point going back as I was as wet as I was ever going to get. Luckily it was not too cold and not much wind so I could tolerate that.

By the time I got home the water had penetrated every layer but the joy of the run outweighed the soggy feeling. Had it been a few degrees colder, or windy they it may have been a different matter.

As always, my husband had put a towel on the floor and a robe by the door. Running shoes and socks off in the porch, wrapped in the robe and straight up for a warm shower.

The worse bit, having to put still wet running shoes on this morning.

:) :) :)

I went out on Sunday and it was tipping it down. I kept whining beforehand saying I didn't want to go (had preplanned run days before). Husband got stern and told me not to be a cissy and GO. I did and got almost the wettest I've ever been, apart from baths and showers, but I really enjoyed it!
