I’d like try the 10k plan but there is no way I can fit 5 runs in a week. Is it still achievable doing 3 runs a week over a longer period. If so which sequence of runs would people recommend?
Getting to 10k with 3 runs a week??: I’d like... - Couch to 5K
Getting to 10k with 3 runs a week??
Yes! Head over to bridge to 10k and look at the pinned post about the magic plan. That’s what I did.
There is absolutely no need to do 5 runs a week !
i got to 10k with 3
I did 1x5k, 1x3.5k a little quicker or a fartlek run and then 1x longer slower run extending the distance of this run around 10% of the previous weeks total
Or take a look at juju's magic 10 plan over on the Bridge to 10k forum as linked to by MissUnderstanding
Hi Kjb04 , another recommendation for the Magic Plan already linked. It's really flexible - three runs a week of varying distances. Each week's runs can be done in any order, on the days you prefer, as long as you take a rest day in between.
You can absolutely get to 10k by doing 3 runs a week! I don’t have time to do more than 3 a week myself, and with a little bit of patience and mixing your runs up, you will get there. I tend to do 2 shorter runs and a longer run a week, adding on to the longer one week by week, Good luck 😊.
I’m one week away from graduating from JuJu’s magic plan so add me to the list of people it has worked for (I managed 9.5k on Friday so I feel confident about getting that extra 0.5k done).
Good luck and enjoy it
