Welcome to the forum .I'm sorry to hear about the back and knee pain and you are right not to run with pain .

Give yourself a few days rest .

But you need to know what's causing it .

What are your running shoes like ?

Are they shoes recommend following a gait analysis?

If your are using the correct shoes and still having issues then it would be worth a visit to a sports physio .

Don't give up just yet , this could very likely be sorted out 🤞

Hi there,

Thanks for your propmt message.

Yes, my shoes could be the problem. After reading few news feed this morning I have ordered pair of running trainers. I enjoyed running and would not give up. Thank you so much for your help and support. If the pain continues I will visit sports physio. I'm so excited to re-start. ☺️

Have you had a gait analysis at a dedicated running shop ?This is the best way to get the correct shoes.

Have a look at this .

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.Knee pain is very common amongst new runners and can normally be overcome by appropriate footwear and strengthening alongside minimising impact.

Back pain is again, not uncommon and regular planks and bridges will often strengthen you back sufficiently.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
