This was such a tough run, W5R3 was easier in comparison. Even my husband said it was a hard run. But we both did it, I just about got into my stride on the 2nd 5 minute run and then it was all over.
We run along a local canal, I always keep a lookout for the heron. It was there this morning as we passed a couple of greyhounds on route ππ

Thereβs definitely something about that run that catches people out. Really well done for doing it. The great thing about the c25k is it gives you skills that help you manage a run youβre finding difficult. That will stand you in great stead for every run you do in the future.
Hi Tazzy, just found a way to get away without the 5 or 10 mins wobblies. What I do is a normal warm up then go for a very-very slow π 5 min run. Then as if by magic when I do the real run the voices on my shoulder telling me to give up are just not there.
That's because I have not only confused the voices but also myself.
Hi I'm really worried to do W6 so have repeated W5 R3 . W5 is such a step up .it definitely mental challenge .so encouraged you have put your best foot forward. We are similar in age I'm the big 60 in April and would like to do a 6 mile to celebrate.
Hi Hidden , you've absolutely no need to be worried about week 6 given that you've completed week 5. Though in fact that week isn't a step up in activity, it's simply that W5 R3 is a psychological challenge, as you've already realised.
Just take week 6 nice and easy, remember that you're prepared for it, and you'll be fine. Happy running!
You were right! I can proudly say I actually enjoyed W6 and was looking forward to R3 Did extra stretches and
Was nervous in a good sense like before an exam
I was prepared in mind I just needed the body to co operate. Slow to start and and wanted to keep going trusting all the joints to carry me . A suppose I did have a sniff of the runners high that OF mentioned.
Hi Tackies, youβll be fine, just take things very steady. Itβs not a race so youβre not on any kind of clock to run so many miles in a certain time. Even when you go for your celebratory 60th run next April, you can take your time. Then go home and stuff yourself with birthday cake π Have fun and happy running πββοΈ
I like the idea of the birthday cake. I probably will have to make my own, but hey I'll get to lick the bowl before the run. πThanks for the sound advice π
