I turned 70 this year and decided to try C25K again, having failed to get past week 3 a couple of years back. Like so many, I found the first couple of weeks tough and wondered whether I really could ever run for 30 mins. I play tennis and golf, enjoy walking etc so I am reasonably fit but had not run any distance for many years. As the course progressed I found that I was actually enjoying running and completing each week became something of a personal triumph. With Denise Lewis egging me on, I was also managing to get a little faster, although her telling me that I "had smashed it" was flatteringly optimistic!
What a great programme it is. It was certainly not always easy and I had to repeat a few runs before moving on but it was totally right for me. Today I managed to complete wk9 run3, two weeks after my last run (thanks Covid). I feel a real sense of achievement and want to thank all of the administrators and contributors for their great advice and goodwill that has kept us all going. Perhaps I really am a runner again! I look forward to park runs and keeping the running going.
Thank you all.
