Is it better to pretend someone is chasing you or not?

Question, is it better to pretend someone is chasing you or not?

Y'know it gives you adrenalin so you run faster but like is it working your heart as much?

No I don't think that it is wise to run thinking that someone is chasing you, the motto here on C25K is "slow and steady" so that IF you were running for your life with someone chasing you then you might get away, but just training to run is NOT to pretend that someone is chasing you, if you follow this course you will still get plenty of exercise and adrenalin as well.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Counterintuitively, if you want to build your stamina, strength and endurance then you need to run at a pace at which you can comfortably speak aloud clear ungasping sentences as you run.........if you cannot, you are going too fast. You can work on speed later in a carefully structured way, once you are less likely to injure yourself.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome to the forum and the program!

I would follow the advice already given .

The best way to build a good aerobic base is to do your runs at a conversational pace.

It's the best way to develop your strength and stamina and prevent injury
