I'm having a time of my life. I'm camping at a quiet small town. I woke up early to run. I start along a beautiful creek, I see a hot air balloon going up in a distance, what a beautiful morning. I go under a road bridge, cross old swing bridge, go up to a look out point (almost) getting hot and sweaty. I'm feeling great! I dicede not to go back to the creek way, there were a couple other campers there and I don't want to wake them up. I run on the road, there is not much traffic with wide shoulder. I see a head light coming towards me. The car looks bigger than normal, maybe a truck? Running on the shoulder may not be safe. There is wide ditch next to it so why not go across to the other side of the ditch. CRACK! I'm rolling on the grass screaming.

Lessen learnt: Do not cross a ditch DIAGNOLLY.

I fractured my ankle and was in cast with crutches for 2 weeks and now I'm told to wear the moon boot for the next 4 weeks. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

This is the first time I stopped running since I started C25K in August last yer. First week, I was looking at every running individual with evil green eyes. Now I'm getting rather too comfortable. I'm contemplating restarting the program once I'm out of this boot. I will see what physio says.

I know it's only a small setback. I just wanted to whinge a bit. It was such a beautiful morning ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Ok, I need details. How on earth do you get into hot air ballooning? I know people do it but it doesnโ€™t seem a particularly simple hobby to start.

I used to work for Per Lindstrand (Balloon manufacturer) who flew the Atlantic and Pacific in a balloon with Richard Branson and I bought a balloon when I worked for him. You need to gain a pilot's licence for balloons which I did many years ago

This was my Balloon

Sounds good ! ๐Ÿ‘My ballooning was certainly great times ๐Ÿ˜

I actually worked on Airships for the company and spent time in Puerto Rico and Texas , building and servicing them , great times

Oh no! What a terrible end to a wonderful run up to that point. I think I would definitely be feeling a lot more sorry for myself than you are.

Take care, rest up and remember those envious feelings to get you back out the door. Youโ€™ll be back to running soon and c25k is a great way to do that. Get well soon.

How frustrating, you are perfectly entitled to whinge a bit! I hope the healing goes smoothly and you are back to it before long x

๐Ÿ˜ช Get well soon. Moon boots are the latest fashion. Colleen Rooney has rocked that look all week ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh no! Definitely lean on your physio for advice on how best to get back into things. They'll definitely want you to be active, but how active is the important thing.

Thank you, I will check it out with physio before attempting something myself and making things worse. Can't wait!

Better out than in they say - I CERTAINLY do when Iโ€™m complaining. Iโ€™m on a restart after a longer break (sorry - not your kind) so youโ€™ll find you can probably pick and choose how close you follow the plan. I skipped a few early ones. Good luck
